Cotton N Cotton

Consists of crushed cotton seed, with sufficient cotton fibre present in the product, giving it a soft and comfortable feel. Many counterfeit products do not include sufficient cotton fibre, making it look slightly brown, less soft and much less absorbing.

Claims:

Soft and comfortable
Dust-free and therefore suitable for many types of rats
Drastic reduction of odour
Always a clean and dry cage
Suitable for digging and playing
Lasts longer than traditional ground covers
Environmentally friendly
Organic waste bin friendly
Reduces allergies
Perfect product against eye/skin irritations and conditions
Less chance of foot problems in large, heavy animals

Price range: top market

Disadvantages:

- Due to its slow absorption rate, odours may occasionally occur
- 'Clicks' together, creating a solid mass
- Faeces remain on top
- Visually a somewhat darker colour compared to wood fibre
- However, vulnerable animals love a darker colour because it provides protection

Instructions:

Apply a layer of about 5 cm in the cage. Apply a much thicker layer in case of hamsters. Generally speaking, hamsters require at least a layer of 20 cm for hiding. With rabbits, remove the dried faeces every 2 days. If you do so, you will be able to use the product for a long period. Maybe up to 3 weeks or 1 month with rabbits.

Suitable for: rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, certain types of rats and mice.
